Welcome to George Elliott's Fundraising Army

Hello and welcome to the website for George Elliott’s Fundraising Army.

For those that don’t know, George was initially diagnosed with a Glioblastoma brain tumour in December 2020.

Treatment was going well until George started getting back pain and his diagnosis and prognosis changed 10 months later to a Glioblastoma Multiforme brain tumour – the cancer had unfortunately spread to his spine.

George was given 3 months of less to live and very sadly, 10 weeks later at the age of 46 passed away peacefully in his sleep in November 2021.

George left behind many friends as well as his wife, Hollie.

This website isn’t just about George though, it’s about everyone who is affected by cancer.
George’s amazing friends and wife kept his spirits up, but none of them could be with him during treatment.

Thankfully, he was lucky enough to use the services of Daft As A Brush, who provide cancer patients transport to and from their treatment appointments. That bit of normality during such chaos was invaluable to him and so many others.

With the help of his Army, he went on a mission to give back to Daft As A Brush through fundraising activities and direct donations.

10 weeks prior to George passing away, he was moved to Marie Curie Newcastle Hospice for end-of-life care. The care and treatment received from the nurses were invaluable and Hollie (George’s wife) will always be grateful and thankful for the support and care provided to George to ensure his time left was as comfortable as possible.

George and Hollie made the decision whilst George was in the hospice that they wanted to raise money for Marie Curie Newcastle Hospice as well because they weren’t just helping them, but so many other patients and their family members in the most difficult time of their lives. A job not many people can endure and undertake.

George’s legacy and mission still lives on now, with the help of his dedicated and passionate friends and wife.
Any money raised goes directly to both charities, so if you want to join the Fundraising Army, please get in touch or visit our donation page to find out how.

Our Fundraising Ideas

Here are a few ideas of how you can help to raise funds for Daft as a Brush.
The idea is to get a team of people together to help you raise as much as you can but either that or a solo fundraising idea are both going to help a lot.
